Please help, I am trying to delete the password on bios.(As i dont know it) people have told me to disconnect battery on cmos or reset something on jumper, however I cant find the battery (need detailed description and whereabouts is it) and also what is a jumper and how do I reset. My computer is fairly old and it runs windows 3.1. Thanks

Please could you clarify the make/model of PC and BIOS type ie Award/Pheonix, unfortunately not all PC's are the same

What we really need is your motherboard model no. You might look for some numbers silkscreened onto the board.
Otherwise, most newer "ATX" boards use a "coin" battery, looks sorta like a U.S. quarter.
Your older machine MAY have the battery soldered onto the board, or it may be connected with a connector/pigtail.
Look near the rear of the board, near the keyboard/cardslots. Usually there is a bulky battery back there, about 1/2 inch dia x say, 3/4 inch long. Near it should be a set of 4 pins, all in a row, with a jumper across the middle two pins. If you have no other way, you should be able to remove the jumper, with the powr disconnected, and let the thing "sit" for 1/2 hr or so and then put the jumper back.

I can't see from this picture where the jumper might be--your board is probably different.
Alternatively, there are little programs you can download here and there that will help identify your board
