Hey people.
Remember the old backup (i.e. mwbackup) ya could do in windows 3.11?? Well, I need to find some way to get into on of these old backup files, to get the data out. Anyone know a way without using that program mentioned? Please help! A business is goin' down if I can't get it out!!!!

Hi tripplefreak:
Try using the DOS msbackup to backup to floppy disks. Then copy the msbackup files to a floppy (I think there's 19-20 files) & install it on Win 95-ME (I know it worked on Win 98, but not sure on later OSs). Then you can exit to DOS to run msbackup.exe to restore data.Good luck.

Ok, unfortuantely that's not working. The MSBACKUP for DOS won't recognize the files. Using the old system (that I need to restore files to), MWBackup won't restore all the files. The "001" file is about 80 meg, and when trying to restore from it, it will only restore about 8 meg of files. None of the files that I need to restore. In the backup is the company I work for's database of sales, accounts and yada yada. So yeah, I need to get in and get these files out!

Hi tripplefreak:
When you try to restore do you use partial restore to just pick directories & files you need, you don't need to do full restore. You also can create a new directory first & change path of restored files to that directory. Last thing is to try restore of *.ful directory, the program will ask of last disk of backup set to restore this file which contains all backed information data list.Good luck,
Z
