I turn my Machine on and after the Dos drives and detecting stuff I get a-- Drive B: error push F1 to continue-- I do and it gos into seeking boot files, and my C: prompt comes up.
I put a 5 1/4 disk in B: change to B: enter Dir And the Files on the B: Disk come up.
I then enter Win 3.11 And the B: will not show up.
I have a lot of old Files & programs on 5 inchers, I want to copy over to 3 inch floppies.
?any suggestions?

Hope I am following you here, try copying the files from the 5 1/4" to where ever you want them from a DOS prompt, do you have a 3 1/2"
drive in this machine....as long as you can get to the B: prompt and read the files you should be able to get done what you want....HTHKeep the old stuff running

Actually in the BIOS, you have to tell it what capacity it is. No autodetect on old floppies.
Rule #1 Good computers don't go down.
Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

But that B; Drive error at boot up bothers Me, Do the new Bios [14 month old Motherboard] HAVE 5" floppy drivers.
And the B: has stopped working.
Maybe the Cable
{It has been 10 years since I played with this}Starts with a 5: Connect, three straight cuts, then a 3: Connect, Then The middle cut Twisted. a Second 5: then a Second A3:
I have the first 3: as my A: drive, then the Second 5: [B:drive.]
To make the 5: my A: I use the First 5: at the start of the Cable then the 3":
?Right?

Normally what ever you put on the end of the cabel will be your A: drive, try this if you like, remove your drive you have on the end of the cabel and replace it with the 5 1/4, go into your bios settings and set the drive settings for A: to whatever size the floppy drive is meaning if it is a 1.2meg select that and then reboot, I would think that would get you over this hurdel and copy your files from your floppys....post back how things are going
Keep the old stuff running
