This computer won't start. I know for a fact that yesterday it had wfw & dos 6.22 on it. Last thing I remember doing to it was changing the administrator and user passwords while I was looking around the menu you get when you press f1. Now after it's turned on and shows how much memory it has a message shows up a the top of the screen and says "To run setup press f1. To continue press enter." but regardless of the buttton I push a small design that looks like a key (here I'll try to draw it O-||, the two vertical lines are below the horizontal one making it look like a key)When I press either button again the design gets more elaborate with each press. What's wrong and what do I do about it? thanks.

It sounds like you install a password on your Bios that is preventing you from going further. At the point where you get the symbol have you tried typing in the password you changed the other day and see if it goes further. That happen one time to a user I had, for her to continue, she had to type in her password. The computer prompts you by displaying some kind of symbol, you will not see any text box or anything just type in the password.

if you forget the password then first look for a universal password for your bios (what is the breand?) and if you can't find anything you can open up the computer and there should be a jumper to clear CMOS. Yuo will need to put your settings in again
