Comment:
What do I need to do to Autoexec.bat or Config.sys to have Windows 3.1 start up automatically instead of having to type 'win' at the c prompt?

Open Autoexec.Bat for editing. At the end of the file, add:
WIN
as the last entry, Now save the file.

be sure to also have in the set path=c:\dos;c:\windows also. If it doesn't, create it. or before putting in WIN, type in this line: CD\WINDOWS

Click on FILE in your PROGRAM MANAGER, then click on RUN. Type in SYSEDIT and hit OK. In the top window that opened scroll down to the last line. On the following line type in WIN. then close and save all changes. Windows will now start automatically.
