Hi, I'd like to know if a 16-bit of Winamp does exist. I've heard about it in a newsgroup, but I can't find it over the Net. Have someone found and tried it? I've Winplay3 and Audioactive, and they do their work very well, but I guess if I could have ID3 tags support in Windows 3.11, so I could read the title of the song that's playing... Thanks and sorry for my bad English!
I don't know if any of these will work in Win 3.1, but you can try the older versions. If you have success, it would be nice of you to report it here. Lookup this link:
Hello, I've tried old versions of Winamp (1.x) yet, but only the installation works under WfW 3.11 + Win32s. Once installed the program starts, but it doesn't play any file... If you load a file and press the play button it remains simply mute and the time counter doesn't work... Thank you anyway!
Yeah, that's right , it (Winamp 1.0) pretty much freezes right after startup with this promo pic in the playlist window- i could never get it to work at all in Win 31x..winamp's always been 32bit at any rate.. There's a 32bit ome that's meant to run in w31 called WinPlay (there's a fellow named Maxim whose even made winamp skins for it!) If you don't have the win32s addons however there's also a real nice mp3 player called AudioActive player..i'm pretty sure it's 16bit, and i always found it reliable, if a bit more stripped down than winplay or winamp...
