what do i need to install windows 2008 server on my dell poweredge 1600sc ?
i have th PE 1600sc with dual xeon 3.2GHZ , 4gigs ram, hotswap drives .
Do i need to use a dell openmange assistant ? if so what version ? how do i update bios etc... if need be . basically i need to know how to install won server 2008 from scratch .
I do have win2k adv server on it now but got hacked and can't seem to reinstall it . i'm sure i will be able to but i figure I may as well upgrade the os .. I have knowledge of win server 2003 . but i don't know if I need a newer version of server assistant and if so what version .
I use the system as a pc mainly for gaming and research but would like to learn to host websites on it as well . thanks in advance

You would start with seeing if Dell supports 2008 on that server. They only list 2003. Reason you need to know this is driver support. No support means no drivers which in turn means you won't be installing 2008.

If your server was hacked you may wish to spend some time reviewing security / internet access best practices. Or it will happen again.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
