Username or password is incorrect..

Specs: Windows XP

I have set up a Windows Server 2008 on a DELL Power Edge R200. Active Directory is configured, a certificate authentication role and a NAS role as well. Authenticating against the active directory always worked, but it so happens now that the administrator user can't login any longer, neither remotely nor directly (the error that comes up is "Username or password is incorrect"). I have'n created any rule that constraints this user whatsoever.
Now, authenticating against LDAP or RADIUS does not work anymore, and when accessing http://server_ip/certsrv to make a request for a certificate client, the following error appears:
"Denied by Policy Module 0x8007052e, The Active Directory containing the Certification Authority could not be contacted".

It seems there is an issue with the Active Directory. Any ideas what I could do to fix it besides formatting and reinstall all over again?

Thank you

Sounds more like a certificate authentication role issue.

How to solve... I don't know. perhaps uninstall this role and start again.
