URGENT HELP NEEDED!! RAID 10 degraded, no drives missing.

Specs: Windows 2008
Hi, I need help urgently and will pay a nice wee bonus to whoever can get this sorted with me.

I have a supermicro server with 4 drives in RAID 10 config. It's showing as degraded on drive 1 and 3. No drives are missing.

Windows Server loads up almost to the logon screen then reboots.

I don't want to risk rebuilding the RAID before taking a backup of a database installed on there.

I've tried the trusty system recovery linux CD but it doesn't see the array. It must be in tact as windows almost loads all the way through.

I tried a server 2008 disc to get to the command prompt to take the file back up that way but as soon as windows loads from the disc the drive fails, red lights and annoying tone........

I've tried all of the above with disc 1, and then disc 3 removed. The same issues.

Help!!!!!

"before taking a backup of a database installed on there."

It is already too late. Windows would still boot even if the array was degraded as you describe.

We have all had to learn this lesson the hard way. Back up before you need the backup.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
