We are not able to give the permission to root folder in windows 2008 to domain user which is part of local admin group

It's possible that only domain admins can have access to the root folder.

A domain admin is a local admin like any other local admin.

sureshreshp - we'll just need more info. How exactly are you trying to perform this action?

there are no local accounts on a DC which also means there is not a local admin.

The OP does not appear clear on what you can or should do for server administration.

After all the OP is trying to assign at the root of the server. Great formula for disaster.
