System process uploads constantly

Specs: Windows Server 2008
I am having a problem with Windows Server 2008. A client was complaining of increased data usage (uploads). I ran NetBalancer and it identified a process called system that is constantly uploading. I have run spybot and windows defender but no virus has been found. When I try to kill the proccess is crashes the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a situation that probably should have never happened in the first place. It's most likely a rootkit. A normal critical process wouldn't let you stop it. I can't really give you any advice except to restore the server from backup to before it happened. Once you do get the problem fixed, take your users out of the administrators group so that they can't break the server again in the future.
