Server 2008 static IP problem

April 27, 2011 at 15:29:39
Specs: Windows Server 2008
I am running a 2008 domain controller, and found a couple days ago that I could not reach it. After investigating the matter, I found that my static IP is not correct when doing an ipconfig command. It is correct in the settings, but when doing the ipconfig command, it is completely different.

So, I removed the static IP, rebooted, got connected to the internet, could ping and be pinged and everything worked fine. Then I set the static IP back, and immediately got a IP conflict message. So I went to another machine and pinged the IP with no result. Did an ipconfig, and the wrong IP was back..

What am I up against here? Bad NIC even though Windows sees it fine and says it is working? Possible virus, even though Norton says it's clean? Demonic possession, voodoo attack?
