RAID 10 failed, now showing as 4 separate drives

April 23, 2013 at 14:12:10
Specs: Windows 2008, xeon 2.8
I'm running a win2008 server with exchange and the RAID showed a faulty drive. After ejecting the faulty drive and booting up in a degraded state the server has limped on for a few days. Tonight I've powered down, inserted the new drive and booted up but now the RAID volume has gone and it just shows as 4 separate drives!

Before I start a reinstall is there anything anyone can think of to recover the RAID?

I've tried removing the drive but still looks like the raid has been deleted.

Happy to bribe you with cash if you get this going :)

Sounds like the raid configuration was wiped out. No recovery for that unfortunately.

The recovery would be specific to your RAID controller. On Dell PERC controllers, when connecting disks that have been part of an array on an otherwise not configured controller, you get an option to import them. I think that if you've gotten to the point that you see multiple disks, you've already broken something that cannot be undone.
