Solved No working ethernet or network controller

Specs: Windows 7
I installed Server 2008r2 on my Probook 6550B laptop for training purposes. However, I cant seem to find an Ethernet controller that will work with the two. I have downloaded the Intel driver, installed the chip set, downloaded the original Ethernet controller. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

According to that site, there are no drivers for Server 2008 R2 on that machine. A work around would be a USB to cat 5 adapter. Trend Net makes them & are sold at radio shack.

I actually just found my solution. Downloaded ProWinx64, did not install completely, but only until the temp files were extracted. Removed the .inf file. Manually installed the .inf with the Ethernet controller. Viola, everything works.

That's good news. I wouldn't have thought of it.
