Dear all,

I am planning to have my existing AD/File Server migrated to new server with W2K8 installed. Wondering if you guy can share how to move all the directories, user access right and etc to the new server? The new server will have the same computername, ip address once it is ready and we will decommision the old server.
Thanks in advanced

You can do it manually
Manually create shares, users, permissions, server rolls and then copy data from there.

It kind of depends on how many users/shares/data that you are working with.

Or you could image the the current OS
Install it on the new server - and then do an actual migration to 2008

Thanks for any input.
