Migrating from Server 2000 Enterprise to Serv

Specs: Server 2008 R2 SP1

We recently purchased a new server equipped with the "Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise" operating system; and we're looking to migrate our existing Active Directory and DNS services to this server from our existing "Windows Server 2000 SP4 Enterprise" domain controller. The Server 2008 box will be our new domain controller on our network.

Now I've been searching around and haven't managed to find a lot on this sort of migration. I've found a few guides and forum talk on migrating from SBS 2000 to SBS 2008 (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...ng=en&id=21428), or alternatively from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...s.aspx?id=4023), but nothing on 2000 Entr. to 2008 Entr. nor on 2003 Entr. to 2008 Entr.

So I'm thinking, although there is a lot of difference between SBS and Enterprise on the system level, there shouldn't be much difference in the migration process. Am I right in my thinking?

Can use the migration procedure for SBS systems to migrate Enterprise systems?

do you mean upgrade or migrate? Usually you upgrade the domain.

how many users are we talking about here?

SBS is a different animal. Usual recommendation for when that far behind in OS version is to create the 2008 forest/domain from scratch.
