Specs: server 2008r2, big
Ihave 170 Terminal server client access licenses on my 2008r2 server. since mid December i have been getting a growing number of computers giving me the message No terminal service client licenses available for this computer. One day client can log on the next they get this message. We have tried to remove the computer from the domain rename it and then re enter it back iuntoi the domain thinking it was dealing with name issues but that failed as well
I am scratching my head on this. Is it a licensing issue or active doirecory or what.
I would appreciate any thoughts before I loose any more connections.

170 TS sessions on one server is a bit much. We run about 50 per server and have multiple servers. Odds are you are running out of resources.

Might want to review your event viewer logs for clues.

Have you checked the licenses? Are you out of licenses or not? The license manage will tell you exactly how many licenses you have, how many are allocated and how many are free. It will also tell you who they have been allocated to.

Only you, or a admin, can tell you if you are out of licenses or not.
