Help!!! AD DC Event ID 1844

March 9, 2011 at 12:31:20
Specs: Windows Server 2008

Hi,
I am trying to setup a small .local domain with a few workstations connecting to it. I try to install Active Directory Domain Controller and DNS Controller after i have assigned a static IP address. After running dcpromo and setting everything the os reboots as normal and the two roles are installed. But when I look in Server Manager at AD DC i always seem to be getting 4 warnings Event ID 1844, 2886, 1463, 614.

Could anyone please tell me what i need to do or what I'm doing wrong. I am following the video tutorials from Train Signal Windows Server 2008 Essential yet these warnings keep coming.

Thank you

Event ID 1844
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...

Appears the DC thinks there is another DC it needs to replicate to.

If you put into google event id and the number you can lookup the meaning of the events

Thanks for the reply Wanderer,

There isn't much on the internet around this issue. I read the Microsoft page but still cannot fix this issue.
Any chance you could tell me what i should do!!!

The link I gave you had a list of things to check. Did you do so? That would be a start.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've never managed to set up a server yet where you don't get some warning messages. Error messages aren't so good, but don't be too concerned about a few warnings.
