Users are only allowed to open the folders they are authorized to, and they do no have ant access to any other folders (especially those in c driver) How can I do this? I am running windows 2008 r2. I have searched the web and all I can find is to hide the driver. However, if the user know the file path, he can still open that folder.

Just set the appropriate permissions at the file and share level. Have a look at: http://www.mcmcse.com/microsoft/gui... . This is very basic server administration. I would advise you to buy a book about Windows Server and do a little reading.
first step is you don't share the c: drive. You only share specific folders you want them having access to. Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
