enabling .jpg thumbnail preview

Specs: Windows 7, Athlon 64 XP2 5000+

I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 as a desktop operating system (poor college student - got a free copy from Microsoft). I've nearly gotten the interface configured like Vista but I haven't found how to enable thumbnail previews of .jpg images. Even when I customize a folder as an image folder, it doesn't change the thumbnail icons. Any ideas?

right click on computer in the start menu and select properties.
Then select advanced system settings and then performance. In
that dialog will be an option for show thumbnails instead of icons.
If you want to have themes so it looks like windows vista, go to
server manager>features> add features, and then add desktop
experience. To get the very fancy aero theme, you have to (after
the other steps) go to Configure>Services>Themes>Properties
and set the theme service to start automatically.
