Curious. We have 3 DC's in our network two in our main location and one at our branch location. I spotted on one of our DC's under sites and services that we have a listing for a DC that does not exist. Our 1st DC installed is our branch were im doing ntdsutil to transfer over all FSMO roles but what about this orphaned DC. Trying to figure out how to use ntds and check what FSMO roles are actually installed on a dc. If I delete the orphaned dc from sites and services will it affect my environment. As far as I know from checking on that server there isnt a dc on it unless it was unproperly un-installed and not demoted properly.

Your active directory view should be exactly the same from where ever you look from. From what you write this does not appear to be the case and that is a concern.

It is not clear from where to where you are transferring fsmo roles.

Our branch was our 1st DC in the domain. I was going to transfer all roles to our main office and put some RODC at our branch. For some reason on one of our servers in AD sites and services there is a DC that is not a dc and when i looked on that server it appeared we had a hyperlink to AD but it was not installed me thinking they removed it without properly demoting and transfering maybe 2/5 of the FSMO roles. I was able to get 3/5 transfered just havent had time to figure out were the domain naming and schema master roles are.
