Connecting Win XP to Win 2008 Std Server on Workgroup

Specs: Windows 2008 Server Standard

Hi Gurus,

I really require some Guru help on this.

I have a small office network (12 computers) of which 8 are on XP, 2 on Win 7 Ulitmate and 1 on Win 7. We have now successfully installed a Win 2008 standard server (32 bit).

The problem is that we cannot connect all of these on the workgroup. All XP machines dont show on the workgroup. Rather on XP machines they only show the XP machines and on Win 7 machines they only show the win 7 machines and server. On the server, I can see the win 7 machines but not the win XP machines.

Firewall is off on the XP machines.
I am able to ping the Server from the Win XP Machines.

I need help to connect all of them so that they show on a single workgroup.

TIA.

all of them have netbios over tcp/ip enabled? You can see this in a ipconfig /all

can the xp boxes ping the servers ip address?

is something shared to everyone on the server?

user accounts [same as they logon locally with as well as same password] exist on the server? They should
