We have windows 7 and 8 client on our Windows 2008 domain, I want the client when switched on to auto login to the domain account but can log off later and login to a different users, any ideas?

I try doing GPO on the users settings but as soon as I log off it log back on again, I don't think there are any GPO in the computer settings for this, I could be wrong.

You can't selectively set who is autologged on. It is a one in all setting. In other words you set what account is used to autologon and that is it.

What I wanted to do is set all computers to login say to a generic user called "auto", so when the computer turns on it will automatically login to "auto" to our server. Then if the user on the computer would like to login as themselves they will just logoff "auto" and login as user "A"
Anyway of doing this ?

create a OU for computers, set a startup script for auto logon registry. computers will logon automatically
