Comment:

I am running server 2008 on a Dell Poweredge 600sc. It has an ATI Rage XL integrated in the motherboard. I have tried using XP drivers from win XP and 2k3 but when I try to change the refresh rate server 2k8 wont let me. I even tried Powerstrip, a utility which operates at a very low level on the hardware and I cant change the refresh rate. Yet when I put xp or 2k3, or even 2000 on there it will do what I want so I know the hardware isnt broke. What I am looking for is vista drivers or a good hack to force this to work

Message: When installing this driver for win 08, first right click on the app and select properties. on the properties page select run in Win XP sp2 mode. this should allow it to install. You will likely get a control panel incompatable message which when ignored still allows you to select 32 bit color and 1280x1040 mode; the highest this adapter is capable of. i have not experienced any issues other then the warning. eric
