Hi, we have users with roaming profiles on our Windows domain. The servers are running Windows 2003 and the PCs a mix of XP Pro and Vista. The following does not affect the Vista users, only the XP Pro ones. Since Monday 29/06 randomly some users cannot log in with their roaming profile and are told that a specific file's security is blocking their profile from loading, these have ranged from favorites to recent files (again no pattern). As Administrator's we have gone into the WServer2K3 member server where the profiles are stored. You cannot access the profile of the users with the problem, as all security seems to have dissappeared. By taking ownership you can get into the profile but you cannot delete the individual shortcut, recent file that is causing the problem as access is denied. The only way around this was to delete the profile and copy the local copy to the server. This rectified the problem. Today we had the same problem again with a different user, rebooting the server solved the problem this time. I cannot find anything anywhere indicating why this is happening. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
