workstations can't reach 2003 share

Hello, all. I've just recently upgraded our 2000 server to windows 2003, and now a strange problem has developed. 90% of the PC's are able to access the fileshare on 2003, but the other 10% cannot. Users typically can just go to start -> run -> \\[server], and the fileshare opens up, but on the problem computers, a dialogue box pops up asking for UN and PW, and no username/password in AD works when typed in. The server has had its dns flushed, re-registered, ran dcdiag and netdiag, rejoined the workstations to the domain, all to no avail. no errors in the event viewer. does anyone have any ideas what the problem is??? many thanks! -Jim

I just wanted to add that all workstations are running XP SP2, and the server is at SP1 -Jim
