Hello,
Every once and a while a few workstations have problems browsing shares on a server. When the users tries to browse the share on the server, the workstation would stop responding for approx 5 min. Nothing seems to work during this time. After waiting, a window would pop up saying the server cannot be found. I can ping the server name and IP no problem. I can log on to the local server no problem.
Nothing shows up in the event viewer.
Everything starts working again after the server is rebooted

check the servers nic card power settings. Should be configured to never have the system put the card to sleep

Also, is this a domain setup? Are the workstations using the server's IP address in their DNS settings?

Assume that I already did an Internet search.
