I have a network with 3 windows 2003 Enterprise servers. I have two workgroups with Win XP clients belonging to one workgroup and other Win XP clients belonging to another workgroup. When I search MS Networks I am able to see clients belonging to only one of the groups but not the other, although I can see the other workgroup name. What do I have to do to see clients belonging to both workgroups?
Can there only be one workgroup on MS networks or can I have more than one?FHE

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that when using Server 2003 or any Windows Server OS, client machines are joined to a .local domain and organizational units are used instead of workgorups.

I am new to Windows Networks, I come from a Netware background, so I wouldn't really know, but my understanding is that you can either have a Domain or a workgroup.
My question still is, how can I see all clients on the network belonging to both workgroups, or can I only have one workgroup?FHE

That's the MS site on workgroups with 2003 Server.
Just out of curiosity, why do you want separate workgroups if you want them to see each other?
Are they both on the same subnet?

It is a historic thing, we have two lots of users who were in separate buildings and they joined together and historically they have different functions, so we kept them as separate workgroups even after moving to the same building. The reason we need them to see each other is that now we have a central AntiVirus server and both groups need to see the same server.

Did the site I posted help at all? Are both workgroups on the same subnet? How many internet connections, modems, and routers are there? Is the server dual homed (2 NICs)?

No it didn't.
Both WG are on the same subnet, and I have just one internet connection with ADSL router. The servers are Dual LAN but we are not using the other NICs.My question still remains, can you have more than one WG on MS networks and access them.

According to that thread ^^^, you can have more than one workgroup but they won't see each other. They should still be able to access the same shares.
