Hi,
what's the difference between Windows 2003 Server and Windows 2003 Server R2 ?

also, some websites refer to R2 as the x64, is this true ?

LOL, I don't understand why people think the vendor wouldn't provide this info, especially one as big as Microsoft.

If you want to help, then stop moaning. If you want to moan, stop helping.

Do you know how frustrating it is to search through *any* corporate websites for something ? Microsoft is the worst site you could find something. I always search microsoft's site via google's engine (site:microsoft.com searchstring) because you'll just be going in loops via microsoft's site search....

I thought the LOL was a dead giveaway I wasn't moaning. I was laughing. :-)

About as much as someone who won't use google, and asks someone to do it for him?

"I always search microsoft's site via google's engine..."

So use it!

Seriously, how do you think we know what R2 is?

The information you provided was on the microsoft's first page for windows 2003 R2. If I wanted to know what microsoft thought about the program, i would have done what you did: go to microsoft's page about R2 and read all the goody goods about how wonderful their program is. I wanted to know from someone here if they had used it, how it was, their experience and so on....

No thanks to you, 5 replies later and I still don't know any more than I knew before i posted this.

That's not the info you asked. You asked specifically what are the new features, and if R2 is X64.

The page Jennifer linked you to has links that discuss the new features of R2 (Find Out What's New in Windows Server 2003 R2). They also mention x64 (64-bit versions) as well if you'd actually take the time to read it.

But nice try though...
