WindowsSvr2003-C: Losing Free Space

We have a Server running Windows 2003. When we start this machine, it has about 25GB free on C:. However, over a period of about 10-15 days, this free space trickles down to about 4GB and then promptly crashes to 0. The physical drive is partitioned and there is no problem on the second logical partition. Restarting the machine recovers all the lost memory.
Virus scans on the machine do not find any problems. Scan disk checks are also not finding any issues. Page file remains at 2GB and page file utilization is at 10%. When we examine all the folders and files, including hidden on C: none has increased in size.

It is important to understand memory is not hard drive space.
Using explorer search the entire drive for *.* [all files - do this at the root of c;]
Sort on file date so you list the most recent files. Monitor this to see what files are being created where and at what size.

We figured out the problem. We installed WinDirStat to determine what was actually taking up all the drive space since it was not showing up in explorer. Turned out it was a Norton issue. The problem and solution is described here:
