Our head office currently has 2 DC's which run Windows Server 2003 Standard with SP1. I am trying to add in a narea office and wondered if there were any problems with adding in a server with 2003 R2 if so how to go about resolving them ??

run adprep from the R2 cd

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.
