Comment:
I have 2 onboard NIC's and 1 nic plugged into a pci slot in the server.Currently im using the pci nic.Randomly the card will just stop working and the led on the nic will go dead.I then unplug the cable and insert it into one of the onboard nic's.Problem solved.Randomly again the nic will go dead with no led's.I cant ping this server and i cant ping out to see a workstation.I then plug the network cable back into the first nic, plugged into the pci slot and all of a sudden it works and the nic comes back on.I have changed nic's,changed the cable, changed the switch and have scanned the server for viruses. Please help.Any suggestions?

It sounds like the NICs are conflicting with each other. Why do you have so many NICs on one PC?

The 2 network cards are built in to the motherboard.I have disabled these though so they shouldnt conflict. The 3rd nic is the operational one and is a pci network card.
