Salam to All,
I hope all of the mailers would be having a good time.I am working in an ISP setup in which we are running Remote access server on windows server 2003 and RADIUS on LINUX enterprise AS4. There is no active directory at all the soul purpose of the RAS is to authenticate the LAN users that dial-in to access the Internet. The RADIUS server as usual is used for accouting. The username and passwords of the dialin user is forwarded by RAS to RADIUS (which is running RADIATOR and the database is on oracle). There is no firewall between the RAS and RADIUS both of them are connected to Cisco Catalyst 4506.
The problem is, sometimes suddenly the RAS looses communication with the RADIUS and the dialin user gets error 930. During the error if one tires to ping from RAS to RADIUS (for checing) we get the "message request timed" out on RAS. At the same time any other machine successfully pings both the RAS and RADIUS but only the RAS and RADIUS do not communicate. After sometime the problem resolves either by itself or by pinging any other system from RADIUS.
Please send me reply as I have done every thing to monitor the traffic at the time of error the traffic is forwared from swithport on which RAS is connected and is received on the switchport on which the RADIUS is connected but still they don't communicate.
