a user is receiving this message when logging off "Windows cannot update your roaming profile.
Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights.
If this problem persists, contact your network administrator." Deleted local profile but still got the same error message. Also deleted server profile but still getting the same message. Anyone got any ideas. Thanks
Sal

Yes Several users are getting it. The way of one my colleagues resolved it was to create a new AD profile and use the old one just for the mailbox which i dont feel comfortable doing at all he hasnt explained to me how he has done (we dont get along) it and i just want to do this myself if there is another way around. Please
Thanks
Sal

Are all roaming profiles located on the same server/or in the same folder and do the users have sufficient security to write in these folders?Check to see if the users can write or modify the folder that stores their profiles.
Not a pro fact just an idea.

Yes all romaing profiles are in the same server under the profiles$ folder. Ok i will try what you say thank you. I'll get back to you.
Thanks
Sal

hi,
- check the permission to the profiles$ share. varify that the user has the same permission as others.
- check the permission to the folder within the profiles$ share
- check the overall space left of the drive where the profiles$ folder resides.
- check if there are any quota limits set.
- check that the UNC path is correct in AD's roaming profiles settings
- in general delete all temp files and move general files from desktop to to network drives. Hoping that the mapped network drive is not on the same drive as the profiles$ share

Hello,
Thank you for all that information the quota limits were set to 1kb but this on 50% of all user accounts and ive only had 2 reported issues of this. But reseting the quota limits to something large or unlimited has worked fine. So im not to sure why the other accounts havent got the same problem of updating roaming profiles.
thanks
Sal
