Trying to logon to a 2003 sbs domain using a pc with xp pro. When I try to join the domain it finds it ok and I join it with the Admin details. Then xp pro asks for a reboot but when this happens I am not getting the option to logon to the domain. I can map all the share folders with no problem but just cant get to logon to the domain. Any ideas?

On the login box....do you have 'details' clicked so you can see what, if any, domain you're logging into?

Wierd. It is just one workstation? Try netdiag and dcdiag from the server support tools - might highlight a problem.

Hi mate. I have run both the tools and dcdiag does find something wrong. Its says it cant find a time server (or something to that effect) but I dont think this could be causing the problem as this is just for clock sync.. THis machine is on it way out the window if it doesnt start working soon..:)

The Time sync also helps out with the network time for AD, if the Client is too far out, you wont be able to login, I use net time in the login scripts to set it as the same as the SBS box.
Hope this helps

Hi,
Dave is right. If there is a substantial difference in the system times or if the time zone is different you may not be able to log in.
