windows 2003 lan access dog slow?

our server is win2k, when using windows 2003, whenever using any Lan resources, the system will very slow, e.g. take few minutes to just enter into a Lan direct. win98,win nt 4.0 win2k have no such problem in the same lan. any idea ? Best regards, Richard
