My windows 2003 os has been freezing ever since i installed it. it's hooked onto a network with an xp computer acting as a icf host. i use this computer as a workstation. i used to think that sql server 2000 and/or windows media player was freezing windows 2003 but i don't use both now and it still crashes. i've got iis installed on my computer with the .net framework 2.0. it even freezes when it loads a webpage. please help.

Have you checked the Event Viewer logs to see what's going on when it crashes?

I hate to say it but i would do a format. it could be a number of things, bad hard drive, bad software, bad drivers, wrong drivers, full moon, the wind is blowing the wrong way, etc.

If it is a hardware problem, then you will know after a format and a reinstall-

good luck-

Then it is definately hardware. Have you performed any BIOS updates? If it is a dell or something heavily supported then you might want to download an bios update.

If that does not work then swap the ram with a friend for a moment (unless you have xtra). And if that doesn't work then swap the HD.

It has got to be one of those.

I assume you have checked the Device Manager for any conflicts. If you pieced this thing together yourself then it could definately be a compatibility issue.

Can you tell us some more about the machine? What is it, how old, where from, hardware, etc?
