I have a Compaq Pressario 5020. AMD Athlon 1000MHz. I installed a second harddrive some months ago and have been running XP pro on one drive and wn2k3 on the other. Recently started having problems with the XP installation and found out that, drive C which is actually 30GB is reading 80GB and drive D which is actually 80GB is reading 30GB. The interesting thing is they both read the actual free space available. I have tried reinstalling everything on both drives and the result is only one runs well at a time.

Any Help Please!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance

My experience is that when I install a new OS (or install it again), I can get the different letters for the drivers. For example, a volume can have different letters in different OS. So I think when u get those drivers C or D, it actually does not change anything but the theirs letters.
And ur second problem may be that when you install winXp again, win2k3 doesn't work because of the file NTLDR, and it is may be a good reference for you: http://www.computing.net/windows2003/wwwboard/forum/1054.html
I hope it helps.

Thanks u all, both operating systems are working great only one more problem left.

XP which is installed on HD1 C: is actually 30GB but reads 80GB and W2k3 installed on HD2 D: is actually 80GB but reads as 30GB. The drives are actually setup as master and slave and XP was installed first.
I thought it might be a false reading from the BIOS so I checked and made some drive self test and evrything came ou right including the volume. During installation of both operating system, windows was still getting wrong HD size, even after reformating the drives.
