We have nearly 2 dozen Win98 clients (along with 10 or so XP clients) that logon to the newly installed 2003 server. The win98 clients work fine for a time then get notified that their network drives are not accessible. Log off then attempt to log back on and it says the password is invalid or permission has not been granted. Logon as the admin and the same error message appears. None of the XP/2000 clients are have this problem, and only some of the Win98 clients are. When you make a change to the network stack (ie, remove TCP/IP or client or adapter and reinstall) it works fine. THen process repeats itself. Any ideas... I heard about this ADClient software that is supposed to be loaded, but my problem is that it works a lot of the time on a lot of the computers. Any ideas would be great

HI, I'm having a similar problem and spoke with a higher up IT friend of mind and he got me to hard set the speed and duplexing of the NIC. he states that since for my setup the Server is 100mbit full duplexing and the older win98 station NIC maybe having trouble agreeing on a speed and whether to be half or full duplex. I have not been able to fully test this yet, But after I changed one station my issues went away at that on at least one of my Win98. Thought I'd pass this info along it case it can help someone else. Good Luck
