Win2K3 will not connect to internet

I have a dual boot with winxp and win2k3 server. The system is connected to a router which goes to an adsl modem and to the internet conection.
The winxp gets to the internet without any issues. The win2k3 OS was able to get to the internet on a previous occasion under this same configuration but now does not aftre a fornat re-installation.
The winxp ipconfig shows the addresses as: 192.168.1.5 IP 255.225.255.0 Subnet Mask 192.168.1.1 Default Gateway
So I set these same settings for Win2k3 to no avail. I still cannot reach the internet.

Try uninstalling the Internet Security on server 2003. As you know this is automatically installed and configured once you install Windows 2003. Go to START>CONTROL PANEL>ADD REMOVE/PROGRAMS>ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENT and uncheck Internet Explorer Security then remove it. Good luck!

I uninstalled IE security but No-Go...
I ran netdiag... it says it cannot get a default gateway. For some reason it won't hit the router... grrr

Try getting on to your DHCP clients table in the router and delete the server machine name from the table. Then do an IPconfig release/renew or restart server. Assuming you previously set your server for DHCP to get an IP.
