I have a frustrating Microsoft licencing issue:
We have a Windows 2003 domain controller on which I have set up and activated Terminal Services Licensing (not Terminal Services) for our Citrix servers to communicate with.
The Citrix servers are running Windows 2000 Server, have Terminal Services set up and are part of the domain. But we cannot connect to the servers and I get an error stating that the Licensing is not set up on a domain controller (Terminal Services error #29). The Citrix servers see the domain controller as an activated licencing server.
I had been told by our licencing re-seller that since we weren't using TS on the Win2003 server, we did not have to buy any CALs (the Windows 2000 and 2003 CALs are not compatible or tranferrable) and that this setup would work.
Can you shed some light on this? I need to know if we have to buy Win2003 TS CALs or how we can make the above set up work?
Thanks.
