Comment:

I recently installed a W2k3 server and used the default sertup. It setup the default names and used a .local extenstion for the domain. The PC’s work find but 1 mac can’t connect to the network. Any ideas???

Does anyone know how I go about changing the .local domain? Will it cause problems with the PC’s as well?

Thanks,
New2k3

It's not because of the .local that the mac won't
connect. It is because of a Domain Control Policy.
If your getting a SMB error -5000 (os X), or
authentication method required by this server isn't
available (os 9) Then that is definitley the
problem. check out http://www.macwindows.com/
for a complete article on exactly what you have to
do. Hope this helps.

I changed the Domain Policy permissions and re-booted. Still no luck. The error has now changed (-36) on OS X

Any ideas what the -36 error code means?
