My win2003 server keeps restarting every now and again and I cant find the reason. The even logs are always clear with the last thing usually mentioned an hour or so before. It does not happen in any pattern or time. The server has about 30 domains/sites but these are basic html types. The error I receive everytime is shown below, anyone have any ideas?
ThanksThe reason supplied by user Mname\Uname for the last unexpected shutdown of this computer is: System Failure: Stop error

Check the setting under the properties of my computer\advanced\settings (start-up and recovery)
Check the setting under system failure and see that the automatically restart option is unchecked.

My proxy server did this for a while recently, i eventually changed some of the power settings in the BIOS. it was an update from microsoft that was meant to make it more stable, but actually has made quite a few win2k3 boxes fall over!!

i had this problem a while ago, i downloaded a cracked copy before purchasing windows 2003 enterprise, just to check that it would do what i needed it too, and that made whatever pc i installed it on restart at random intervals, the copy i baught however was fine on the same computers.
so i am presuming it was a dodgey copy, is your install downloaded or baught?
