Am new to the Server OS, so I ask for
patience as I get up to pace...I just did a brand
new installation of Windows Server 2003 Ent
Ed...and after the installation, the system
boots up and asks for me to do an update. But
the problem is that, it does not connect to the
internet even though the machine is connected
to my network.
How do I get my new installation to connect to
the internet?
Thanks

Check and see if you have the network card drivers installed. Sounds to me as you are missing them. Go into device manager and you'll see.
If they are it should be a simple network config you need to modify. What type of connection do you have? How do the server connect to the internet, i.e through a router, modem etc?

thanks for the response Phatsta...I looked in device manager and
the ethernet controller and SM Bus Controller are corrupt but am
not able to update the drivers cause am not able to connect to
the internet to do the install.
You also did mention modifying the network configuration...how
do I go about do this?
I have a router that is connected to the Internet outlet and the
server machine is connected to the router.
Please help.
