I went from 2000 advanced server to 2003 and I did a full install. During the istallation it ask or says it will restart the computer and just goes to a grey screen and sits there. I just restarted manually. Finished the install. But if I go to start shut down and restart it just sits there. I installed all patches.
Thanks all
Don

I have the exact same problem. Windows will not turn off or restart. It's hasn't done it for quite a while, I've reinstalled the OS many times, and Windows Setup can't even reboot. I've even flashed the bios with many different versions and checked ACPI support, which it has and is enabled in the BIOS. It processes the logoff and shutdown scripts, saves settings, then all windows disappear leaving a grey screen, then it locks up. Thanks for any help.
