We have just upgraded to a Win 2003 server domain. All clients are static IP's. We have a total of around 1400 client computers mixed with Windows Xp Pro & Win 98 workstations. Every time a client win 98 computer loggs onto the network, we get an error on the client computer saying the domain controller could not be found we hit the "ok"button & then it loggs onto the network fine, all scripts load & everything works great. My question is, how in the world can we get this domain not available error to stop coming up on logon on the Win 98 machines. With the Win XP computer, this does not happen. I have even ask everyone that has a Win 98 computer to wait about 3 or 4 minutes after they turn them on in order for everything to load before typing in the username & password to see if that would change anything but it don't. Id anyone can give any advise or maybe have seen this before please let me know. I am just wondering if it is some Win 2003 server setting for the Win 98 computer or some security setting that needs to be adjusted but don't know where to go look for it right now. Please advise. Thanks

Hi there.
I'm not much of an expert myself, I've just started ussing 2003 server for about 1 month now but I think that you're having this problem due to the way you setup you DC, you may have only choose support for 2000 and xp systems and not earlier versions of windows such as 95, 98, me, etc....
I think that its this...
