Win 2003 Dual boot problem with XP

Comment:
I had win 2003 enterprise server edition on my xeon pc on the C: drive and it was working fine until I installed winxp on F drive. Now the dual boot screen shows up but when I select Win 2003 Server the screen just goes blank but when I select Xp it works. The Boot InI looks like this:
multi(0)disk(0)partation(3)="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)partation(1)="Microsoft Server 2003,Enterprise" /noexecute=optout /fastdetect
What should I do to make the system boot into 2003 again, I don't want to reinstall 2003 as there are user accounts in it.

When you install out of order [oldest OS first] you need to consider/ backup the boot files ntdetect and ntldr. You need to the 2003 versions. It works like this; 2003 can boot 2003/XP/2000. XP can boot XP/2000 but not 2003 because it never even knew it existed at the time of XP's creation.
