Can anyone give some good reasons to not migrate to Windows server 2003 for just our Domain Controllers? They only act as Domain Controllers and do not run any applications. Any information would be helpful.

Only if you are changing for NT to Windows 2003, then it may be worth the change. Think of ease of administration for network system admin. "active directory directory service.

I agree, if you are currentlyrunning NT Server then if it is within your budget then upgrade. I personally have found the 2k platform far superior to NT. But then again that is with 2k/XP workstations running along side it (not 9x/NT workstation).

If you already have 2k Server then I wouldnt bother with the upgrade unless you are going to take advantage of the .NET side os 2k3 Server.

There is a huge difference between NTFS w/ NT and NTFS with 2k/xp. NTFS was upgraded from version 4 to version 5, and as previously mentioned the major change was the block sizes. However there is also added security possible with NTFS 5. Instead of just having the ability to set Read, Write, Execute, Delete, Change Permission and Take Ownership. NTFS 5 (2k/XP) has the ability to set special permission for things like listing directory contents, Reading attributes on files, Reading extended attributes, Writing attributes etc. This can give huge amounts of control to sensitive areas.
