Why can't XP pro client join domain

I am having a problem adding an XP pro client to W2003 server. When prompted for the user name and password an autentication error is returned that I have "a bad user name or password". I have verified all of the following: User exists as domain admin, and I can login using this name / password Netbios enabled, Firewall disabled, NSLookup returns correct details about my DNS. I am able to login to domain and join using domain admin login from other XP box.
Interesting thing - when I browse the network from this XP pro box, when trying to access shares on the W2003 server I get the following error: "referenced account is locked out, and may not be logged onto" this account is not locked out, as I said I just logged into the domain using this account.
