Dear Group:

Which edition is newer?

"Microsoft Windows Server 2003"

-or-

"Microsoft Windows .Net Server 2003 Family"

And can I install the newer over the older?

Thanks!

They are really the same thing. Microsoft decided to drop .Net off of the name. So if it has .net in the title its older then the final release of Windows Server 2003.

The final version of Windows Server 2003 is 5.2.3790. To find out what version you have type ver in the command prompt.
